The Annual
DRYL Bud Koch Poker Run was again a
bigger and better event this year! The
last few years this event has become a major event and has gone thru the roof with
the sky being the limit!
I would
like to thank Fred Saunders, Stella Errickson, Florence Libby and my wife Mary
for all their efforts during the Poker Run.
Also, the 10 clubs who volunteered to be stops and starting points need
to be given kudos as well…. BYC, DRYC, QCYC, WYC, FSA, BOC, WEBD, RCBC, RYC, and
HLYC all did a great job for us. Each of
these clubs have many people who helped dock boats, prepare food, deal cards as
well as supplied drinks and snacks to all the players. There is not enough space here to give the
thanks they so deserve for their efforts.
A special
thank you must go out to BYC ‘Doc Harry’ and his lovely wife Bonnie who put out
a spread ‘ fit for a KING ‘ for breakfast.
You name it, they served it. It
was for a great place to start the Poker Run, just ask the 227 that started from
there. We have 85 start at FSA and 28
who started at WEBC, for a total of 340 players !!!
1st
Place was awarded to Rosie Restuccia of Bordentown YC
w/ Four 9s with a Jack kicker which gave her $2164.
2nd
Place worth $1082 was awarded to Rick Orlando from Delaware River YC who had
Four 9’s with a six kicker.
3rd
Place was awarded to Frank Cloakey from Neshaminy harbor YC who pocketed $541
for his Four 8’s
4th
Place with Four 7’s was Sommer Hefelfinger from Bristol YC who went home with
$270
5th
Place was for $270 as well and was awarded to Kevin Bowen of Neshaminy Harbor
YC for his Ace’s over Ten’s Fullhouse.
I hope
everyone had a great time and I do have the list of names of those that did not
get a tee-shirt and will make sure you or your delegate has it by the next DRYL
Meeting.
PLEASE NOTE
- Fred & I have discussed some changes for next year to make this event even
better. We are thinking about adding a
few more winners with one winner possibly being the worst hand. We also spoke on possibly donating $1 or $2
from each hand to a Charity to be picked by the DRYL Delegates each year. Again, these items and a couple more will be
discussed further between Fred & I and we will let you all know what we
come up with before next year’s Poker Run.
Again,
thank you all who came out and to those that were a part of this year’s
event!!! Take care and have a great day!
