2008 DRYL Queens Pageant

August 16, 2008

Well, another DRYL Pageant has come and gone and we have a new DRYL Queen. Westville Power Boat Assoc. Princess Siobhan Sullivan ( pronounced SHE-VON ) was crowned 2008 DRYL Queen on Saturday Night.

1st Runner Up went to NPBC Annie Friars and 2nd Runner Up Honors went to Bristol YC Sommer Heffelfringer.

There was a three way tie for Miss Congeniality with Miss Neshaminy Harbor YC, Miss Pennsylvania YC and Miss Westville BC ( a pageant first ).

All the Princesses did a wonderful job and you should all be very very proud of their efforts through out the summer and on the stage.

As always we had a nice flotilla of boats and many came by car as well.

The CBYCA was present as Commodore Coles Marsh came up with fellow Officers. The Bay Queen and many Princesses made the trip up as well.

The basin and auditorium were packed! And again, as in years past, it was another huge Dock Party.

Mother Nature did not fool with us this year as she kept it cool and breezy all week-end.

Close to 100 boats attended and every club that showed up seemed to have had a blast!! Docking went smoothly and I would like to thank all the clubs / people that came thru for us who showed up to lend a hand and give support this year. Especially the New Faces.

I would like to take a second to thank those who came and acted as Honor / Color Guard for the evening, THEY DID A GREAT JOB !! Thanks as well to AYC P/C Jim Morrisey!

And lastly, I cannot thank Toni Nespola enough for her efforts, her valuable time and her good spirit as she always kept a smile on her face during this trying year. She is truly an asset to our Organization and the young ladies of the DRYL.

FYI - Club With the Most Boats - HLYC with 13 Boats just barely beating out Quaker City YC.

Best Decorated Power Boat - RWYC who’s decorations included Tony Luke’s Pork sandwiches

Best Decorated Sail Boat – AYC who put out a complete array of food and drink on the stern which included the best tasting hoagie in this WORLD !

Best Of Fleet - HLYC – This boat had it ALL GOING ON … skycam, the Link, and lets not forget the cheerleaders!

Best Decorated Club – RWYC – The new kids on the block make a STATEMENT and a good one it was … they decorated not only the boats but the entire dock behind their boats!

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves ... and if you did not make it down this year, there is always next year - SO PLAN ON IT !!!

Take care and visit the web-site again for more info and pictures. I will be putting the pictures up as soon as they are given to me. CONGRATS SIOHBAN !! Please pass this on to your members..... Juice
