A Note From The D.R.Y.L. President - January 2012
Let me start by saying I hope you, your family, and your club members had a very Happy Holiday Season and may the upcoming New Year be one that finds you surrounded with family and friends and filled with good times and wellness.
I would like to quickly mention a few things....
I would like to thank all the clubs that came thru yet again with donations at the DRYL Meeting at Farragut S.A. A nice amount of food, toys, and a ton of clothing were donated. It was another show of how we as a group can come together for a good cause. I dropped the food off at Philabundance which supplies food to the homeless and homeless shelters in Philadelphia and South Jersey. I hope that those that donated are aware of how much this means to the homeless shelters and homeless over the holidays. As for the non food items, NHYC members Ed & Maureen Strange, Denise Leo and her 2 children along with Mary & I took those items again to the Trinity Presbyterian Church for their Annual Christmas Dinner. We all also showed up to assist with the giving out of gifts, clothing as well as with the serving of the meal. Again, I thank you all for your donations.
As you may or may not know, Nominations and Elections were held at the last DRYL Meeting at Farragut SA and I am again honored, and humbled with the privilege of being your President for another year. I am grateful for all the delegates who support me and entrust in me this position and I will continue to do my best to serve you and this organization this upcoming year.
Every year I give thanks to the delegates for their support of the league and I need to continue to do so as the delegates are a very important part of our organization. These are the people that take the time to come out to the meetings and take back the information to you and your membership which is very instrumental in getting the word out on issues and current events.
On the topic of importance, I can not leave out how important our supporting crew of DRYL Officers are to us and give them thanks for their efforts to our organization. I am sad to say that John Maloney, Rick Patton, Mike Kovacs and Phyllis Blakeby have stepped down as Officers and I am at a loss for words. These fine people have been by my side for many years and I can only wish them all well in the future and say ' Thank you very much for everything that you have done for me and our group'.
Mark Brasburger will be stepping up to 1st VP, John Honer will be taking our 2nd VP position and Walt Schutlz will be our 3rd VP. Joanne Coyne will be our Treasurer and Hal Thomasson will be our new Financial Secretary. I would like to welcome them aboard and I am sure they will all do us well in their new positions.
Lastly, to my Committee Heads - " THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN OUR ORGANIZATION " who all volunteer their time & efforts for us. We are all so fortunate to have you involved with us. Please continue your fine work and support of us and KUDOS to all of you.
I am going into my 7th term as President and I will continue to do my best to keep our organization heading forward and promise to work even harder to continue to keep the lines of communication open between the league and the clubs.
As I have stated in the past, please feel free to contact me regarding any issues you may have regarding league events, your club, and or any legislation concerns you feel we could be helpful with. I will always make time to discuss any concerns or issues you may have. Remember, The D.R.Y.L. is here for you.
Please pass all this info on to your officers and members ....... thanks much and I hope you have a great day and again, thank you very very much for your support!
