Letter from the President of D.R.Y.L

Hello Everyone !!

Let me start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year and hope you all had a very Happy Holiday Season!

I would like to quickly mention a few things....

Nominations and Elections were held last month at Farragut SA ( Tuesday, 12/4 ) and I am again honored with the privilege of being your President for another year.

I would like to thank all the delegates who supported me not only Tuesday night during the election but during the past year as well. You coming out to meetings and taking the information back to your members really helps in the getting the word out on important issues and current events.

Thanks must also go out to our supporting crew of fellow DRYL Officers as they are all back as well for another year. We all truly work well together and that makes for a good core. I have always said, and I am a firm believer in ' if you surround yourself with good people, good things will happen ' , and I must say, I am surrounded and supported by many many good people.

For over 20 years I have been an Officer, with more then 3/4 of those years as a Commodore or President. My success over those 20 plus years I give to my ability to keep communications open between myself, the members and the officers, always finding time to listen on how to make things better, or find a way to fix a wrong. Over the years I have always tried to make everybody happy, and we all know that can not be done, but I still continue to try, as I want nothing more than to have everyone float with tide ( if you get my drift ) :)

With that said, and me going into my third year as President, I again want to put this out to you, please feel free to contact me regarding any issues you may have with the league, the web-site, the pageant, the picnic and the banquet. I will always find the time to discuss any concerns you may have. Also, more importantly, if there are issues surrounding your club, or legislation that needs the support of the league, again, please feel free to contact me as The D.R.Y.L. is here for you.

And, it is that time of year again. Your Club Pages for the DRYL Yearbook are now due. You can get the info for pricing out of last years yearbook as the prices and the dates are the same. We still need personal ads and commercial ads as well... so if you would like to place a personal ad with a picture of your boat and crew or a business ad please get them to me by next meeting or ASAP. If you could also try and sell an ad or two, that would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to let you know that our 94rd Annual DRYL Banquet is set for February 23rd at Cannstaters German Club. !! GOOD NEWS !! Ticket prices are cheaper than in years PAST !! How about that ! With prices of everything going up The Committee was able lower the price to $40 pp. You still have a choice of Prime Rib or Stuffed Flounder and beer and wine are still included in the price. It will start at 7:00PM and go until midnight. Hope you can make it!
