The 94^th Annual DRYL Banquet

The 94^th Annual DRYL Banquet was held at Cannstaters German Club in Northeast Philadelphia on February 23^rd . It was a wonderful evening and I would like to thank my wife Mary for her efforts in putting this affair together for us. Thanks must also be given to the entire Gricco Family & Kristen as well as Past NPBC Princess Melissa who showed up early to help Mary & I set things up.

We had a FANTASIC turnout breaking the 250 person attendance mark which has not been done for many years!!! Kudos have to go out to NPBC who had 40 people attend and let us not forget the clubs who had 20 or more people attend … HYLY, QCYC, YAC, RYC and NHYC who had 19. Joe Campbell again did a great job for us as our MC. CBYCA Vice Commodore Noon attended along with 2 other Delegates. We also had many past Queens, and Princesses attend and were introduced by Pageant Head Nespola. DRYL Queen Leanne gave a very nice and touching speech. The DRYL Club of the Year was presented by The GST Group to Riverside YC for their efforts in assisting HLYC when Fire recently struck their dock. The DRYL Person of the Year was presented to Ms. Denise Santry of NPBC for her rescue of a fellow boater. At the February Delegate Meeting the Delegates agreed that all proceeds from the Banquet Raffle should go to DVYB / HHYV Delegate who recently lost his home and pet in a fire. Many people dug deep for this and a nice amount was collected for the LCD TV. All in all, it was a fabulous evening and everyone seemed to have a great time.
